Missing girl calls mum
Tuesday 30th December 2008, 1:50PM GMT.
Police searching for a missing Shropshire schoolgirl today said contact has been made with the teenager, but they are still unsure of her exact whereabouts.
Jackie Watton, 15, left her home in Marchamley, near Market Drayton, at about 3pm on Saturday.
A police search was launched after her family reported her missing when she failed to return home.
Police today confirmed Jackie was believed to be with a friend and had spoken to both her mother and a police officer by telephone.
Richard Ewels, West Mercia Police spokesman, said: “Contact was made yesterday afternoon and we believe Jackie is staying with a friend in Derby.
“However, we have not been able to establish her precise whereabouts.”
Appeals are continuing for information about a 14-year-old boy who went missing from his home in Woodside, Telford, a fortnight ago.
Lloyd Andrews has not been seen since December 15. He is described as 5ft 10in, slim, with dark brown hair and brown eyes.
