Plea over expert’s murder

Saturday 13th December 2008, 11:00AM GMT.

Michael Davis-BinghamDetectives today appealed for help from the public in tracking down the killer of former Telford council chief Michael Davis-Bingham exactly one year after he was stabbed to death.

They say they have not given up the unsolved murder investigation which has involved more than 100 detectives, officers and forensic experts.

And they are particularly keen to track down any of his girlfriends or anyone who lost money as a result of his failed business dealings.

Mr Davis-Bingham, 43, a Canadian national, was found dead of a single stab wound at his home in Bowen Street, Parkfields, Wolverhampton, on December 13 last year.

A high-flying business expert, he was born in the Caribbean, educated in Canada and had worked in the USA before moving to Britain in 2002.

He was Telford & Wrekin Council’s head of economic development from 2003 to 2005, living until last year in Finchale Avenue, Priorslee.

He was last seen driving his black BMW X5 on December 12, 2007, when he attended a business meeting in Birmingham.

In a public message, his mother Reva Davis, who lives abroad, said today: “Once again we are asking the public for their support to find his killer. If there is anyone who can help us in any way, please call the police.” Contact the Major Investigation Unit at Bloxwich Police Station on 0845 113 5000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
