Frost wins at Ludlow

Thursday 11th December 2008, 12:00PM GMT.

Ludlow today became the latest National Hunt card to fall foul of the cold snap.

Bob Davies inspected the south Shropshire course at 8.30am this morning, but ruled there was little choice but to abandon today’s card.

“We got down to minus four during the night and, although we were up to about nought by 9am, the frost got into the ground and it was not going to come out before racing,” said Davies.

“It was a fairly straight-forward decision.”

Ludlow will be hoping for better luck next Thursday when they are scheduled to stage their final card before Christmas.
