The PDC World Darts Championship hopes of two Shropshire throwers are over.
Market Drayton’s Darren Whittingham and Bridgnorth’s Jonathan Overton were both beaten 5-3 in the first round of qualifying at Telford’s International Centre on Saturday.
Whittingham went down to eighth seed Jason Clark, and Overtown was beaten by Andrew Coulter.
Eight players qualified from Telford to reach the final stages at the Alexandra Palace later this month, inclduing former semi-finalist Dennis Smith.
