The Shropshire Star today pledges an offer to help our readers through the credit crunch. As the county fights to keep the local economy turning, we want to play our part.

So we are giving advertisers and other local retailers across Shropshire and Mid Wales a one-off chance to promote their services absolutely FREE – all we ask in return is that you offer your customers something for nothing. Now we want to hear from YOU what your offer will be.

All the offers will be pulled together into one huge Great Christmas Giveaway on our news pages next week. All readers will have to do is present their copy of the newspaper to the participating business to claim their goods.

If you want to be included, don’t delay – we’ll be taking submissions on a first-come, first-served basis.

There are only three main conditions – you must be offering shoppers the chance to get something for nothing over the coming weeks, you must be based in the Shropshire Star’s circulation area, and your offer must be exclusively available to our readers.

It could be a buy one, get one free offer. It might be a free dessert with every main course at a pub or restaurant. Or it could be free advice, insurance or support.

The nature and value of the giveaway isn’t important, as long as it includes something for free, which readers would usually have to pay for.

How to take part

• Simply supply the offer you would like to see in the paper and on our website in no more than 40 words, by e-mail to offersforchristmas@shropshirestar.co.uk.
• Don’t forget to also tell us who you are, where you’re based, and any terms and conditions which apply to the giveaway.
• All offers must be received no later than 3pm on Friday, and will be accepted at the Editor’s discretion.
• The Editor’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
