Groups lose Lottery vote

Saturday 29th November 2008, 11:17AM GMT.

Three Shropshire groups hoping for a Lottery cash windfall have failed to scoop the jackpot in a TV vote.

The Broseley Partnership, which sought to refurbish Broseley Cemetery Chapel, Adams’ Grammar School in Newport, which wanted to develop a derelict woodland area, and The Perry Riding for the Disabled Group at Yeaton, near Baschurch, all missed out in their bid for the Big Lottery Fund’s West Midlands People’s Millions cash.

Each went head to head with a rival project this week and all lost. The overall winner was Bentley Village Hall’s Securing the Future project in Warwickshire.
