Arrest after car crashes

Friday 28th November 2008, 10:43AM GMT.

A woman was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a car left the road today, careered across a traffic island in Telford and ploughed into bushes.

The car, a Vauxhall Corsa, was severely damaged in the crash on the Mossey Green roundabout in Old Park Way at about 5.40am today.

A fire crew from Telford was called to the scene and Sub-Officer Tony Druce said there were two women and a man in the car.

They escaped with only minor injuries but police spokeswoman Denise Wakefield said a 24-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol.
