Fires victims treated by medics

Two people needed medical treatment after two separate fires at homes in Shropshire.
The first blaze started in the kitchen of a home in Downton Court, Hollinswood, Telford, at about 6pm.
One woman needed medical treatment after inhaling smoke.
Crews from Telford’s Tweedale and Telford Central fire stations attended the scene.
Firefighter Tim Morris, based at Telford Central said: “The fire broke out in the kitchen of a house.
“The lady was struggling with her breathing.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman, said: “We received a call at 6.20pm yesterday from the fire service to treat a lady who had suffered from smoke inhalation.
“Paramedics gave her advice as she did not need further hospital treatment.”
A separate fire broke out in a dining room at a home in Kennedy Road, Kingsland, Shrewsbury at about 7.40pm.
Two crews from Shrewsbury fire station attended and one person was examined by paramedics at the scene.
The fire was caused by a candle, which set fire to the tablecloth.
Firefighter Steven Cox said: “Wax from the candle had fallen onto the tablecloth setting fire to it.
“By the time we arrived the homeowner had already put the fire out.
“Candle fires don’t happen too often but we do ask people to be aware of putting items near the wax which could catch fire.”
