The results of a four-week long investigation into potentially contaminated land in Shropshire will not be revealed until after Christmas.
Environment Agency experts are currently testing samples taken from Tern Hill, near Market Drayton, and preliminary results are expected to be revealed shortly after Christmas.
The experts hope to establish whether an industrial solvent has seeped into water-bearing rocks below the ex-RAF site at Tern Hill. Traces of contamination were found during routine sampling of a groundwater borehole about 1.5km to the south west of the site.
