AFC Telford United were looking to recover from their FA Cup disappointment when they took on Gainsborough Trinity in the FA Trophy.
A defeat to Southend earlier in the week had ended Telford’s hopes in the premier competition, but Rob Smith’s men still had a proud knockout record to defend on Saturday afternoon.
Goals from Danny Carey-Bertram and Terry Fearns were enough to earn Telford a place in the first round proper – and a possible crack at FC United of Manchester in the next round.
