A host of artists will take to stage
Friday 21st November 2008, 11:00AM GMT.
From opera to Amy Winehouse – Oswestry is to get its very own variety show next month.
Amateur entertainers are taking to the stage on December 6 and December 7 to put on a show including singing and dancing, comedy and a drag artist.
The show, by the newly-formed Very Nice Production Company, is on at The Marches School’s theatre.
Tracy Knowles, one of the organisers, said the extended evenings would also include craft stalls, a raffle and refreshments.
All the proceeds will go to Hope House Children’s Hospices.
“A group of us, some thespians and others who have never been on the stage before, decide to try to put on a show and raise some money for the hospice,” she said. I think the result is spectacular and I hope those who come along agree.
“We have had such a lot of support from businesses and from people not only appearing in the show itself but who are involved in the background. We have been overwhelmed and hope to raise a lot of money for Hope House.”
Tickets for the show are available from fashion boutique Just the Right Thing, Beatrice Street, Oswestry.
