Wolves ace out to make amends

Wolves striker Chris Iwelumo is desperate to play for Scotland against Argentina and make amends for the now infamous sitter that cost Scotland victory against Norway.
The World Cup qualifier at Hampden last month proved to be a debut to forget for the Wolves ace when he somehow managed to miss an empty net from a few yards out.
The match ended in a goalless stalemate that could yet prove costly to Scotland’s hopes of qualifying for South Africa in 2010.
He said: “I’m desperate for another Scotland game. It was hard to take but the character I am I feel good, I’m enjoying playing, scoring goals. Hopefully I can do that for my country, that’s my dream. I’m a proud Scot, love my country, so I’m delighted to be in the squad.
“I spoke with the gaffer (George Burley) a couple of times on the phone and he’s been different class. He knows what I bring to the game and I felt great after I came off the phone to him. Hopefully, I can repay his faith.”
Argentina boss Diego Maradona is famous for his ‘Hand of God’ goal against England and Iwelumo hopes that dreadful miss against Norway will not be the moment that ultimately defines his own career.
“Of course there is a fear that’s all I could be remembered for,” he admitted.
“That’s football, isn’t it?”
