Embreys butchers in Church Stretton have made a Pudsey Bear burger for Children in Need. Manager Graham Garner is seen with several. Picture by James WatkinsHundreds of people across Shropshire and Mid Wales were joining thousands of others in the country today to raise millions of pounds for BBC Children in Need.

As well as the usual fancy dress pub crawls and people sitting in bathtubs full of beans, there were others who were putting their day to day skills to good use.

In Church Stretton, Embrey’s butchers have been selling Pudsey burgers for 75p each to raise cash for the annual event.

The butcher has supplied the meat for the burgers while staff offered labour to make the 500 tasty treats.

And the big switch-on of Telford Shopping Centre’s Christmas lights at 6pm tonight will help to support Children in Need, with a special guest appearance from Pudsey Bear.

The televised section of Children in Need will hit the screens from 7pm on BBC1.

Among the events being screened will be performances from Girls Aloud and Take That and a special edition of Strictly Come Dancing. The seven-hour BBC1 show will also see McFly perform their Children in Need song, Do Ya.

Well done, everyone loves a burger, shame it isnt bbq weather!

I deposited some change in Town today after I had to hunt around for an official pudsey collection tub, thank god for Boots Opticians.

Everytime I found a penny or two pence piece this year I have put it into a money box and then obviously today I have donated it to a worthy cause.
