Have aliens visited?

Strange lights have been seen in the skies over Powys sparking speculation of aliens visiting Wales.
Witnesses didn’t know whether they were seeing a strange firework or something more sinister.
Carol Morgan, of Llanfair Road in Newtown, said she spotted a large ball of orange light moving across the night sky on Bonfire Night.

“We were having a fireworks display, like many others, in Newtown, when we saw something in the sky,” she said.
“At first we thought it was a large firework, as it was a large ball of orange light, of course it was cloudy but this was under the cloud cover and was clearly visual. We watched its path head over us at a constant speed, never getting brighter or dimmer until it had passed out of sight.”
She said she had videod the entire experience. “I was videoing the firework party and quickly videoed this ‘UFO’ and when I tried to focus in on it better it looked perfectly round,” she said.
“I’m just wondering if any other people spotted these strange orange lights as I’d be most interested to know.” Mitchell Banks, of Caersws, says he too had also spotted bright orange lights moving across the sky on November 7 – just two days after Mrs Morgan’s sighting.
“Me, my dad and my brother saw a bright orange light in the sky, so we stopped in a layby just outside Welshpool to watch it, then two other cars stopped behind us to have a look,” he said. “The light was bright orange but not flickering and there was no sound from it. It was not very high up but it was travelling very fast. The light flew silently over our heads and disappeared into the distance heading towards Welshpool.”

News of Powys County Council’s budget cuts travel far and wide. Might it have been aliens from Pluto coming to help illuminate the skies with an orange glow – instead of the council’s streetlighting, which is being quickly reduced?
If they actually *landed* in their craft, they could then offer shopping trips to the public of Powys too. Thereby relieving Powys CC of the need to spend anything on supporting bus services as well……

I think its these chinese laterns, the paper things that float with the aid of a candle in them – could also explain the tragedy of several farm fires in the area as well.
Fire works and chinese laterns should be banned – very dangerous.

I saw the same a few years ago on bonfire night. They were 3 orange lights above Donnington. They hovered across the Sky left and right then just dissapeared.

We also witnessed orange orbs in the sky travelling North West on the Bridgnorth to Ludlow Road. The sighting was of one single orb,was soundless and also travelling at a constant speed at approxmately 1915 hours on 7-11-08. This is one of several personal sightings in 2008.

very much the same as the first report we were standing out the front of my house but we didnt have a fire works display even though it was fire works night but we did have a bonfire for the guy as the fire calmed and started to come to an end me my partner my two children my nextdoor nieghber and her two children had all herd what must of been a low flying aircraft up to the left of us we noticed it because it was loud for that time of nite as the noise got more silent travaling into the distance me and the lady next door saw a small orange coloured erm ball i surpose thats what it was it was a glowing orange ball moving at some speed in complete silence straight over all our heads we didnt show our concern in front of the children even though we were actually pretty worried and a bit confused more so because by this time the air plane we herd just a short time before had gone there was no traffic it was almost silent this ball was a solid sphere of light there as no noise at all it was moving in a perfect strait line for what i would say was about 250 300 foot distance then went up and vanished into the low cloud which was at the time moving in the oppersite direction we all still a bit wow what was that we would love to know for sure

I saw two orange/red spheres over Telford on Wednesday 12th Nov’ at 5-40pm. These were silent but very swift. One appeared first coming from Shrewsbury direction towards Telford followed by the second which joined the other very rapidly. I would say far too fast for any normal aircraft. They both then flew side by side before vearing off back in the direction of Shrewsbury again.
These spheres were completely round, silent, large and very bright.
I did ring the news channel but they said no-one else had reported anything that evening. I could not have been the only one to have witnessed this.
Please keep reporting any more sightings.

Little green men and aliens do exist. But in order to see them you must down 10 pints of the good stuff or a bottle of Jack D.
However it is funny before the advent of technology people used to get drunk and see fairies and allsorts now with all the sci fi it has advanced to aliens.

I myself and my husband saw the same thing on fireworks night, A bright orange/red light floating in the sky, no noise just a ball of light, My brother lived in Thailand for about 5 years and bought home a few lanterns for us and it was defiantly not anything like that and it was not an aeroplane, I do not drink and found it quite disturbing as i have no idea what this was, My husband has always tried to convince me that ufo’s are real but i have always been a sceptic, seeing is believing, what i saw that night was not an air craft i am accustomed to seeing.

Me and my girlfriend have seen somthing very similair to this 2nite altho it wasnt a white round light it was a orange light with a weird shape to it and we saw 2 one of with was just a couple of feet above her house. Would be very intrested to no if any other people have seem anything like this resently

When you consider how our technology has advanced in just a few years , enabling us have these online conversations amongst other things , and
Then also consider how few people can actually even begin to understand how “this” all works then ….. how can you all honestly say that in times to come we won’t acquire sufficiently advanced technology, which might make “us” appear as “aliens” elsewhere?
Can anyone even explain magnetic forces i.e “action at a distance” ? or how an electromagnetic wave propagates?
You can come up with all the advanced maths and physics you like, but a fundamnetal understanding still evades us ….. So ..
Whilst our “knowledge” is still far from “complete” … we can never say for sure that some things are “impossible”.

Did anyone see the strange light above Newport, Shropshire last night? It was in the sky for about 3/4 of an hour as you look out from Newport towards Edgmond. A hazy ball of light that moved backwards and forwards across the sky at differing speeds- sometimes moving up and down in a strange way. My son saw it out of the window of his bedroom and came down to tell us. I told him not to be so stupid, but both me and my husband watched it for some time. He did say it could have been a powerful light shone from the ground but there was no beam of light from the ground. I don’t believe in UFO’s, hadn’t been drinking and am quite normal (honest) but this has made me wonder- particularly as a similar sighting was recorded in the same place in June this year- so I’ve just read on the Shropshire Star sight!

I would just like to make a few points on all your interesting comments that you have made on our sighting, first it is an Unidentified Flying Object, Not “aliens”, second it was videoed in Nightshot(black and White) and it was orange!, and last, it was not a chinese lantern because it could not fly into a prevailing wind(wind direction!!) without an engine and at a constant height and speed.

yea we spotted them on bonfire night too but in newport southwales there were a set of 7 followed by 2 same thing as before bright orange and no navigation lights each on about an inch in size and not a sound they were heading towards bristol

Driver and six passengers entering Newtown along Llanidloes Road.Large orange object in the sky directly in front of our vehicle clearly visible to us all. Arrived at Sycamore Drive and observed it for nearly half hour it didn’t move or make a sound but semmed to hover above cloud level. Object was about 4 times the size of the largest star, orange in colour and hazy halo around the outer rim.Station Cabs in Newtown saw it as well and have photos of similar object seen a week earlier

My son and I saw a light exactly as described in the above article over Montgomery on 3rd December. I still have no idea what it was, can’t ever see me finding out either!

My husband and I saw a similar thing tonight as the objects descibed in the other messages. First we saw an orange ball travelling steadily across the sky, with no sound, heading west over Shrewsbury and very closely followed by another orange shape with what looked like ‘fingers’ moving gently above it. This was travelling rapidly, again towards the west and with no noise.

at 21.30 this evening i was sat watching tv when i saw a constant orange light through my window past over south side off ludlow, i’d seen these same lights twice before, xmas eve at 18.30 / xmas day night at 19.45.
not see’ing where the first one came from, but having ran upstairs, i witnessed another two seperatly rise from i would think was ground level in the tinkers hill direction climb to a great height rapidly and just vanish, no sound, after ringing the local police (0845 number) they told me to check it out on the web, and crumbs, i’m not the only one to see them, guess where i’m heading tomorrow evening.

i would like to add to Mrs carol morgans post just to say that after i had posted my experience of what had happened the night I had seen this UFO/orbs/lights/objects lots of people had spoken to me in person about it and the majority of people believe them to be lanterns but i have seen this lanterns lots and lots of times my brother lived in tie land for 4 yrs he always brought plenty of them back when he came to visit for the kids to watch and never have they travelled in a perfect straight line with no flicker of lights just a solid stable ball of orange colour and they have never moved against the wind never and certainly for the amount of distance these ?objects were moving not one person who questioned me about it could explain what i and four other well respectable people had witnessed that night I was not drinking i have children to look after I do not take any drugs and im not crazy we all saw something they were not lanterns or fire work they were just there then they went and we witnessed it .

I witnessed a very large ball of what looked like fire oarange in color on Dec 31st 08 myself and my partner were absolutly gobsmacked as this was only 15 or 20ft from us, we were a little to uneasy to follow it. This was sighted in Birmingham, Stirchley. At around middnight.
