Rock star’s son Otis Ferry was told he will remain behind bars today after his counsel withdrew a bail application.

Countryside campaigner Ferry, 25, of Eaton Mascott, near Shrewsbury, son of Roxy Music singer Bryan Ferry, appeared at Gloucester Crown Court this afternoon. 

Ferry’s barrister Guy Gozem told the court he would not proceed with a scheduled bail application, but did not give a reason. 

Ferry, who has been on remand in HMP Gloucester for eight weeks, could face another four months in custody as he awaits trial for robbery, assault and “witness nobbling” charges. 

Dressed in a green jumper and a blue suit adorned with a poppy, the countryside campaigner dropped his head to the ground when Judge Martin Picton told him he would remain remanded in custody. 

He will next appear at Gloucester Crown Court on December 3 for a plea hearing and is due to stand trial on March 9. 

It’s alleged the 25-year-old robbed and assaulted a hunt monitor last year as she filmed him at his sport. 

The incident is alleged to have taken place while Ferry was with the Heythrop Hunt, which covers Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire. 

The robbery and assault trial failed to get off the ground in September when allegations of “witness nobbling” emerged. 

He was subsequently charged with two counts of perverting the course of justice.

Last week Shrewsbury MP Daniel Kawczynski claimed Ferry was a “political prisoner”.
