From ancient mill to breathtaking home
Tuesday 11th November 2008, 8:30AM GMT.
When Dave and Cath Harrison first saw the partly derelict Redhill Mill near Shrewsbury eight years ago to contemplate it as a project, their first thought was “you must be joking – it’s so vast!”.
But thank heavens they changed their mind and bought it, as today it is one of most spectacular homes to be found in the county.
Take the photo tour below.

What they first laid eyes on were three separate buildings – the mill, the maltings, and in the middle, the mill house, and the plan was to make them into one.
Although the millhouse at the time was habitable, the Harrison’s decided to rent a house in town for a year and a half while a lot of the work was done.
They used small teams of local builders, taking the project one stage at a time with Dave project managing it.
At the time he was also running his own business with Cath, while they also brought up their children.
