Flood warning to motorists
Tuesday 11th November 2008, 2:00PM GMT.
Water levels were falling today as Shropshire recovered from flash flooding – but motorists were still being caught out in Albrighton.
Several motorists were caught out on Sunday night in Albrighton, Cleobury Mortimer and Burlington as heavy rain led to floods across the county.

Two more were caught out in Albrighton in the last 24 hours – despite signs saying the road was closed and warnings of flood water.
Firefighters rescued a car from floodwater under the Station Road railway bridge at 10.10pm yesterday – and again at 10.55am today, after a call to the same location at 7.45pm on Sunday.
West Mercia Police spoke- sman Richard Ewels said: “We had reports of three drivers who had got their cars stuck and had to abandon them and make arrangement to get them removed.
“I would urge people not to attempt to drive through as some three people have ignored those signs already and got stuck.” He added: “While there is flood water and surface water on the roads, people should drive very carefully and sensibly in the conditions.”
Shropshire Star weatherman John Warner said tomorrow should be mostly dry with sunny intervals.”
Several areas remained on floodwatch, but the Environment Agency said this morning the River Severn was peaking in Shrewsbury and it anticipated no further problems.
