Ice hockey players are protected against most injuries – but a puck in the face is something they all fear.

That was the case for Sheffield Scimitars star Oliver Barron, who suffered a suspected broken jaw in Saturday night’s clash with Telford Tigers.

But it was a better night for new Tigers signing Andre Niec, who scored twice on his debut for the home side.
