Four girls left badly shaken by robber
Saturday 1st November 2008, 11:09AM GMT.
Four teenage girls were left badly shaken after they were approached by a man in Telford who snatched money from one of them.
The plucky 15-year-old victim then confronted the robber.
But he threatened her and escaped in the incident in High Street, Dawley, between 7.25pm and 7.40pm yesterday.
A Telford Police spokesman said the girls were walking near the Royal Exchange pub when the man pounced.
The spokesman said the 15-year-old was holding an amount of cash in her hand at the time and the attacker grabbed it.
Police subsequently searched the area and arrested a 29-year-old man from the Dawley area on suspicion of robbery.
He was today in custody at Malinsgate police station in Telford.
The spokesman said the victims were unhurt but had been left shaken by their ordeal at the hands of their attacker.
He said: “All four girls were upset by the incident.
“Fortunately, none of them was physically injured.
“The man in custody is due to be interviewed by officers today.
“We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information about it.”
