Owners Mr Dennis, 31, and Katie Garlick, 28, said people enjoyed relaxing with an alcoholic beverage while having their hair done.

“We’ve got an alcohol licence which is pretty cool. We’ve also got internet use for the customers,” he said.

“As far as I’m aware we are the only hairdressers with an alcohol licence in Telford. We had to pass exams the same as anyone would if they wanted a licence for a nightclub.

“We’ve just opened and it’s going really, really well. We had already created a good reputation in Donnington after opening in 2005 so it’s great. We offer everything under one roof – hair restyle, surf the web and an alcoholic drink.”

Mr Dennis said people often considered the hair salon as their recreational time and enjoyed a drink.

People waiting for hair treatments could also surf the internet while they wait.

the new jobs at the salon include three full-time and one part-time employee.

Salons in cities such as Birmingham offer alcoholic drinks which customers say are a great success.
