Carlos Edwards today insisted Wolves fans had better
fasten their safety belts because he is ready to fire after a low-key
start.
The on-loan Sunderland winger has struggled to make an impression and was dropped from the squad for Saturday’s win at Watford.
But the 30-year-old responded by setting up Sylvan
Ebanks-Blake for the winner in Tuesday night’s 2-1 success over
Swansea. And he says supporters haven’t seen anything yet. There’s more
of this type of performance to come from Carlos Edwards,” he said.
“I hadn’t made the best of starts here by my own standards.
“The other players and the manager know what I’m capable of and I hadn’t reached that.
“Tuesday night was a step in the right direction and
certainly one of my better performances since arriving at Wolves. I’m
feeling more confident that I’m doing the things the manager wants and
what I know I’m capable of doing.
“I’m delighted to have started my first home game and assisted Sylvan getting the winner.
“That’s what I’m here for – to put the crosses in for the strikers to get on the end of and Sylvan took it really well.”
The Trinidad and Tobago wide man admits his preparation
hasn’t been the best after being away in the Caribbean for two World
Cup qualifiers after his debut
“It was a strange start for me having played at Swansea
and then gone away and done all that travelling for the
internationals,” he said.
“I’d come here on loan and really wanted to make a mark but when your country calls, you there’s nothing you can do.”
