AFC Telford United will return to Northwich Victoria tomorrow evening for a second attempt at finishing their FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie after Saturday’s clash was abandoned due to power failure.
The game was called off at half-time due to fading light, with the main generator blowing up moments before kick-off and a back-up which was not strong enough to operate the floodlights.
The mains supply had been cut off in the week.

Northwich’s landlords Beaconet Ltd – owned by the Vics’ former chairman Mike Connett – have brought in a more powerful generator and have offered guarantees to the FA that they will be able to host the tie tomorrow evening.
The incentive for the eventual winners will be a home game with League One side Southend United in the first round proper on Saturday, November 8.
Dave Thomas, Northwich’s general manager, said: “A more powerful generator has been brought in and it was tested for two hours this morning, the duration of a match.”
Telford chairman Lee Carter added: “We haven’t seen the extent of the guarantees that have been made so we just have to trust that it will be okay.”
Meanwhile, Bucks boss Rob Smith admits the prospect of a tie with Southend is an enticing incentive.
“I never like to look too far ahead and get carried away with who we might play next when we’ve still got another game to win,” he said. “If we can get through then it is a great draw, but Northwich will be feeling exactly the same.
“It does add a bit of spice to the occasion, not that it really needs any more.”
On Saturday’s events, he added: “It was a bit of a shambles, but it’s one of those things. I feel for the fans. It must have been a bit of a nightmare for them and I understand the frustration.”
l Admission prices for tomorrow’s game have been slashed to £5 for adults and £3 for concessions, or an extra £1 to sit. Under-16s are £1 in all areas.
Subsidised travel is priced at £5 on the official club coaches. For more information, call 01952-640064.
