Turner becomes a Rover

Saturday 25th October 2008, 6:30AM BST.

Jimmy TurnerAFC Telford United centre-back Jimmy Turner has been sent out on loan to British Gas Business Midlands side Bromsgrove Rovers as he continues his return from a knee injury.

Turner, Bucks captain for much of last season, was expected to make his Rovers debut at Marlow this afternoon.

The 25-year-old has made just one substitute appearance for United this season after sustaining a knee injury and then suffering complications during an operation to cure the problem.

Despite only playing 23 minutes of competitive football, Bucks assistant Larry Chambers feels that a mere month at the Victoria Ground could be enough for him to regain full fitness.

“Jimmy just needs games,” he said. “He hasn’t done a pre-season, but he’s done all his recovery work now.

“Hopefully one month will be enough. He could be gone for four weeks and then come straight back into contention for us.

“We’ve missed him in defence and we’ve missed him off the pitch as well.”

Meanwhile, Jon Adams has spoken about his injury injury frustration.

The in-form midfielder pulled a hamstring against Solihull and will not now be able to captain England in a Futsal tournament in December.
