Claverley and St John the Baptist Schools will fancy their chances in the later stages of the competition while last year’s champions, Morville, could still spring a surprise.
Dorrington were delighted to have reached the final stages of the competition after a 2-1 win in the final game of the evening against close neighbours Longnor.
Two further sets of group matches were also played in the ESFA Individual Schools boys tournament at Sundorne.
Teams qualifying for the next stage were Dothill, St Lawrence Church Stretton, Cleobury Mortimer and the Grange, the last two named teams being most impressive.
