Thursday 16th October 2008, 8:29AM BST.

A Shropshire teenager has admitted shooting dead a pony that belonged to a nursing home.

Daniel Walker, of Dodington, Whitchurch, appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday.

The 18-year-old admitted having a loaded shotgun in a public place and destroying a pony, which belonged to Edgeley House Nursing Home, Whitchurch, on May 4.

He had originally denied the charges.

Judge Nicholas Mitchell adjourned sentencing to a date to be fixed to allow pre-sentence and psychiatric reports to be prepared.
