Wednesday 15th October 2008, 12:14PM BST.
The golden oldie of Shropshire cycling has done it again on the national stage.
Dennis Milsom, of Mid Shropshire Wheelers, national veterans champion for the third year running at 10 and 25 miles, rounded off an outstanding season by setting up a new national record for an 81-year-old – twice!
The flying time triallist stunend his rivals in the Stone Wheelers 25 miler, recording a phenomenal 59mins 18secs.
And the next day in the Port Talbot Wheelers event – “just to prove a point” – Dennis was timed in at 59-13 to clock two records in two days!
In both events his age allowance of 29min 13secs ensured first place in the Age on Standard department.
