Shrewsbury Town fans were in no mood to celebrate after their side’s 2-1 defeat to Port Vale at the Prostar Stadium on Saturday.
A late strike for Vale secured three points for the visitors – sparking fears of violence as fans invaded the pitch.
And for many supporters making their way home, those fears simply added to a miserable afternoon for the League Two high-flyers.

A lot of Salop fans view things through rose tinted glasses. Port Vale won, get over it.
The Ref was very good, we have had far worse over the years, if we had won he would have been welcomed back with open arms.
The first goal was certainly offside and the second for Port Vale was easily allowable.
