On your marks for fell-runners

Saturday 11th October 2008, 11:50AM BST.

Fell-runners from around the country will be gathering at the Breidden Hills between Shrewsbury and Welshpool tomorrow for the start of the Shropshire winter hill race series.

The Breidden Hills Race takes competitors on a gruelling seven-mile route involving 2,300ft of climbing on the Shropshire/Welsh border. Start is 11am from Criggion Village Hall and entry is £4 on the day.

Other races in the calendar include the Wrekin Wrecker on November 2 and the Cardington Cracker on December 7.
