Morgan forgets double cup woe
Saturday 11th October 2008, 11:50AM BST.
Manager Tomi Morgan admits there’s not time for doom and gloom after Technogroup Welshpool bowed out of their second cup competition in the space of just a few days.
After the 2-1 Welsh Cup exit at Airbus UK, the Lilywhites also went out of the Loosesmores Cup with a 2-0 home reverse against Rhyl in their penultimate group outing.
“There’s no time to feel sorry for ourselves, we’ve just got to get on with it and hope that our luck will turn soon,” said Morgan whose side visit Neath tomorrow.
“We’re not playing badly, but we’ve just got to cut out conceding silly goals.
“The problem is that we’ve lost two of our best players, Geraint Windsor and Craig Wilkinson, through injury, who are both likely to be out for the rest of the season. It’s a big blow as they are the cornerstone of the side.”
Morgan added: “We were disappointed to lose against Rhyl, they are a good side but there wasn’t much in it. Overall I wasn’t too unhappy with the performance, but we just need a bit of luck.”
Pool make the trip to Neath on Sunday eager to improve their bottom four position in the league but their hosts will also have a point to prove as they prop up the table.
Fullback Kyle Jacobs is still out while Alex Kevan is also a long term absentee.
