Friday 10th October 2008, 11:30AM BST.

A Shropshire pub which closed three weeks ago will  reopen tonight after a new landlady was found.

The George and Dragon pub in Much Wenlock High Street closed on September 22.

The closure came after landlady Angela Gray left.

But owners Punch Taverns revealed today that a new landlady had been found and the pub would be reopening this evening.

A spokeswoman for Punch Taverns, said: “A local lady, Mrs Bernie Beardmore, is taking on the pub and we will working closely with her to help her build a successful business.

“It will be reopening this evening.”
