Rain and winds to lash the county

Photo: Stephan Rousseau / PA WireShropshire and Mid Wales’ brief Indian summer has come to an abrupt end as chilly conditions and severe weather warnings herald the arrival of winter.

The sun and fine weather enjoyed only a week ago will make way for rain and strong winds, which are expected to lash the county this weekend.

The Met Office has issued severe weather warnings because of heavy rain expected to drench the region tonight, with winds of 50mph and up to four inches of rain before Tuesday.

John Warner, Shropshire Star weatherman, said today: “Temperatures will be about average for the time of year but last night it was very chilly with a ground temperature of about -1C (30F) and a touch of ground frost.

“We missed out on the coldest temperatures because there was some cloud cover but we’re not out of the woods yet.

“There could be more heavy rain on Tuesday and people should prepare for some flooding.”

I think you’ll find that it’s Autumn. Winter doesn’t start for another couple of months.

sounds like the weather is the same as the markets . if only you could bottle it up and sell it then the uk would be so rich, they could pay to get it moved to some where warmer…

Excellent – the loonies “running” the country will be able to use this to double taxes on the basis of “global warming” and the council will be able to create a new empire of project managers to educate us – Bring on the revolution.

Climate may be changing and maybe by mankind!
But our small island is so insignificant in the scheme of things. It is purely a way of raising additional taxes under a green banner.

    Go on Labour keep squeezing!!!
