A woman was taken to hospital after a crash between a car and a van which left a road blocked near Ironbridge this afternoon.

The car and pick-up truck collided outside the Old School House on The Lloyds shortly after 1pm.

Two ambulances and fire crews were sent to the scene after reports that one person was trapped.

The female driver of the car, in her late teens or early 20s, was taken to Telford’s Princess Royal Hospital with wrist and arm injuries.

The male driver of the van, in his 40s, suffered minor injuries and was checked over by paramedics at the scene but did not need hospital treatment.
