Met chief Blair resigns

Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Ian Blair this afternoon quit his post.The Scotland Yard chief, who was educated at Wrekin College, said he would stand down on December 1.
He has faced criticism over his handling of a racism dispute involving the Met’s most senior Asian officer Tarique Ghaffur, and on police contracts awarded to an associate.
