Staff were evacuated from Mail Solutions on Halesfield 14 after the alarm was raised at about 4pm.

The fire at the premises containing bales of paper and envelopes sent thick black smoke soaring into the sky.

Eight pumps from Telford Central, Wellington, Tweedale, Much Wenlock, Hodnet, and Bridgnorth were sent to the scene as well as two aerial platform ladders.

Firefighters were expected to be at the scene all night with smoke still billowing out of the building more than three hours after the blaze started.
