Ticket-holders get in for free

Wednesday 1st October 2008, 11:50AM BST.

Shrewsbury Town’s 2,678 season-ticket holders will have the chance to at least partly escape the credit crunch for a night next week.

Town officials have reached an agreement with League Two rivals Wycombe Wanderers to allow season-ticket holders of both clubs to gain free entry for next week’s Johnstone Paint Trophy second round tie at Adams Park (7pm).

“It came from a conversation with the secretary of Wycombe,” said Town general manager Jon Harris.

“Everyone is aware of the economic climate and as a football club, we want to give payback to our valued supporters where we can.

“There was the potential for a low crowd at Wycombe on Tuesday so both clubs were keen to do something and the first band of people who spring to mind are season-ticket holders.”

Town fans must collect their ticket, either by ringing or visiting the ticket office at the Prostar Stadium, before next week’s game.
