Four hurt in road crash

Wednesday 1st October 2008, 11:50AM BST.

Four people were taken to hospital following a crash on the Chirk bypass today.

The A5 was closed between Gledrid and Halton following the accident shortly after 9am.

A Ford Mondeo and a Toyota collided close to the Halton roundabout.

Police, firefighters and ambulance staff were sent to the scene amid reports of someone trapped in the wreckage.

Ambulance staff took four people to Wrexham Maelor Hospital, although a North Wales Police spokeswoman said none of the people involved were believed to be seriously injured.
