You’d have thought we’d be fed up with them by now. After all, Travis seem to have been ever-present this summer.

First, they thrilled a huge crowd at Weston Park’s V Festival. A few weeks later, they returned to please rain-dodgers during their Indian Summer concert at Shrewsbury’s Quarry Park.

Last night, they were a short drive down the M54 at Wolverhampton’s Wulfrun Hall, where they played a storming 90-minute set to another sell-out crowd.

The gig was not without incident. One fan clambered on stage and successfully proposed to his fiancee, telling her he wanted to be standing next to Travis frontman Fran Healy when he popped the question. When she accepted, the audience went wild.

But that was far from the highlight the night. While the city’s football team struggled, gig-goers enjoyed Travis’s hat-trick of appearances.

They mixed songs from their storming new album Ode To J Smith with many of their classic hits, including Turn, Closer and Driftwood.

With three local-ish appearances in the past six weeks, you have to wonder where Travis will turn up next. Clun’s Memorial Hall, perhaps? Or how about the Upton Magna Village Fete?

Wherever it is, they can be sure of a warm reception.
