Tragedy top of the headlines

Sunday 28th September 2008, 12:00AM BST.

The tragedy at Osbaston House continues to make the headlines. Hear more in our “Sunday Supplement” podcast.

The Shropshire Star’s Andy Richardson looks back at the opening of the inquest into the deaths of Chris, Jill and Kirstie Foster.

Deputy Editor Jon Simcock looks ahead to the big stories next week, including the trial of a former Shropshire doctor who has pleaded not guilty to plotting to explode car bombs in London and Glasgow.

Mohammed Asha, who worked as a junior doctor at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital until August last year, is accused with Bilal Abdullah of conspiracy to murder and to cause explosions.

With the credit crunch and property prices on everyone’s mind, next week the Shropshire Star will also include a feature about a Broseley couple who specialise in adding value to homes before they are put on the market.

The Star will also be covering the 12th annual Wellington Literary Festival, which looks to be the biggest yet and includes appearances by BBC journalist George Alagiah and Louis de Bernières, author of Captain Corelli’s Mandolin.
