Gunnell faces final hurdle
Thursday 25th September 2008, 11:50AM BST.
Shropshire snooker ace Adrian Gunnell was today taking on Stuart Bingham to win a place at the finals of the Royal London Watches Grand Prix in Aberdeen.
The Telford potter, ranked 36 in the world, survived a scare against Vincent Muldoon at qualifying in Prestatyn yesterday, winning 5-4 on a decider to set up today’s big clash with Bingham.
Victory at the North Wales venue will seal Gunnell’s passage to the Scottish venue next month, though he will face a tough challenge against the world No 21.
