Church Stretton-based water company, Wenlock Spring, is celebrating its 20th year of business by launching a whole new look.
The spring water firm, which originally sent out its bottle via the milkman on his rounds, is embarking on a new marketing campaign to run alongside the new image.
The Wenlock Spring production facility is at a Site of Special Scientific Interest in a recognised Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Director Bruce Orme said the water is bottled as it emerges through the rock strata of the geologically famous Wenlock Edge, which gives it its unique sweet taste and high calcium content.
“This source of water has been in constant use since the 13th Century, supplying an ancient manor which was once at the heart of a medieval settlement.
Fellow director Matthew Orme said the company was environmentally conscious, consumer aware, and endeavoured to keep food miles low, employing local people and recycling as much as possible.
“We are proud of our values and the way we work here. We are constantly implementing new procedures to ensure we continue to be environmentally aware and we have worked very hard to ensure that we recycle 99 per cent of materials used on this site.”
The company began moves to revamp its look at the beginning of the year and has launched a total re-brand and marketing campaign, thanks to Shropshire design agency Carl Jones Design.
Matthew added: “The bottle label has been re-designed, as well as the website and other marketing materials.
“After running the business for nearly20 years we felt it was time to totally revamp and update our brand, not only to enable us to continue to grow the business but also allowing us to promote our company values through our branding.
“Our still and sparkling waters are available in 330ml, 750ml and one-litre sizes in recyclable glass bottles which are ideal for restaurants, cafŽs and bars, anywhere you would go to enjoy fine food and drink . . . including at home of course.
“We are excited about showing off the new look for Wenlock Spring. We are pleased with what has been achieved so far and are very much looking forward to the future.”
The marketing campaign Ten Green Bottles offers ten fun ways to recycle your empty bottle of Wenlock Spring into something useful. The website www.10greenbottles.org and the Wenlock Spring story book provide lots of useful information on Wenlock Spring and environmental issues.
