  • River Vrynwy at Melverley & Kinnerley.
  • Lower Dee Valley from Llangollen to Chester.
  • Bangor on Dee.
  • River Usk at Crickhowell.
  • River Severn from Caerhowel to Trewern, including Garthmyl, Berriew, Trehlig, Llynderw, Kilkewydd, Welshpool and Buttington.
  • River Severn from Glandulais to Caerhowel, including Newtown.
  • River Vrynwy at Maesbrook & Haughton.

AREAS ON FLOODWATCH:

  • Severn Vrynwy Confluence.
  • Upper Teme – River Teme, River Onny and River Corve & their tributaries upstream of Ludlow.
  • Lower Teme – River Teme and its tributaries downstream of Ludlow.
  • Rea Brook and Cound Brook.
  • River Severn in Shropshire.
  • Upper Dee Valley – Llanuwchllyn to Llangollen, including Corwen.
  • Lower Dee Valley – Llangollen to Chester.
  • River Usk in Powys.
  • River Wye at Builth Wells.
  • River Wye in Powys.
  • Upper Severn in Powys.

EVENTS CALLED OFF:

  • Malpas Yesteryear Rally, which was due to take place this weekend.
  • Shrewsbury’s Battlefield Fun Ride, which was due to take place tomorrow.
  • A 10-mile fun ride at Chillington Hall, near Brewood, tomorrow.
  • A kite flying workshop at Telford Town Park due to be held today from 11am to 3pm.
  • The Hawkstone Park Scenic Fun Ride due to take place on September 14.
  • The Hundred House Show, due to take place in Welshpool today. Some stands still going ahead in the village hall.
  • Today’s big race meeting at Haydock Park, featuring the Group One Betfred Sprint Cup, abandoned. Race meeting at Stratford also abandoned after a night of heavy downpours at the Warwickshire course.

    My commiserations to all people affected by these floods, after only just being able to move back to their homes and businesses, following the floods of last year. And well done to all the services, including district council and local authority workers, during this time.
