Region battered by downpours

Emergency services were once again kept at full stretch in Shropshire and Mid Wales as the relentless and torrential downpours caused havoc.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service fielded more than 100 weather-related calls yesterday afternoon, the bulk of which involved waterlogged homes and vehicles getting stuck in flood waters.

    My commiserations to all people affected by these floods, after only just being able to move back to their homes and businesses, following the floods of last year. And well done to all the services, including district council and local authority workers, during this time.
