Chris, Jill and Kirstie Foster

The brother of murdered Jill Foster today paid tribute to his beloved sister and niece Kirstie. Roger Doley’s 49-year-old sister Jill was shot in the head by her husband Chris.

He then killed their 15-year-old daughter, burn- ed down their home – Osbaston House at Maesbrook, near Oswestry – and killed himself.

Mr Doley, who does not speak of his brother-in-law, said his sister was “just a nice girl” who “always made you feel welcome”.

Mr Doley, of Perton, Wolverhampton, said he was devastated at the loss of his family, describing Kirstie as “horse-mad”.

He said: “Jill was just a nice girl, she always had a nice smile and always made you welcome. I’m so heartbroken. I can’t believe she’s gone forever.”

He said his sister always enjoyed playing sports and was a good swimmer. “I tried to get her to support the Wolves, to no avail – She ended up supporting Leeds United,” he said.

“Kirstie was so interested in the horses that it became part of Jill’s life too.

“She treated all the animals like pets, even the chickens had names. Jill just loved life.”

Mr Doley described how he used to enjoy banter with his teenage niece Kirstie.

“I remember the last time I saw Kirstie, she started giving me grief about being an old codger. Not anymore,” he said.

“But it was all in good humour. You would hear her shouting the horses’ names as she went up the drive to feed them. There’s so much to remember. It’s just sad that I’m never going to see them ever again.”

Mrs Foster, the youngest of three, also leaves a sister, Anne Giddings, also of Wolverhampton.
