Stadco set to cut jobs

Wednesday 3rd September 2008, 10:47AM BST.

Jobs are to go at a Shropshire car parts manufacturer which is one of Shrewsbury’s biggest employers, bosses have revealed.

Bosses at the Stadco site, which employs 300 people, have put forward a proposal to cut staff and are currently working with unions.

Spokesman Martin Hayes said: “No redundancies have been confirmed and we are working through a consultation with unions.

“We have put forward a proposal which may result in 10 people being at risk of redundancy but are going to do everything we can to avoid compulsory redundancies.”
