Restaurant to open in town ‘soon’

Saturday 30th August 2008, 11:50AM BST.

A new Indian restaurant is set to open in Market Drayton, creating jobs for people in the town.

Arash Ali, who currently runs a restaurant in Birmingham, hopes to open the venue in Shropshire Street before Christmas.

He said the move will create a couple of part-time jobs, and possibly more as the business expands. He added he has applied for permission for an extension, so the restaurant will be able to seat more than 100 people.

“The restaurant will be Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine, and we are looking for a good, contemporary name for it. There will be some job vacancies for students and maybe some part-time or full-time jobs.

“It’s hard to say when we will open, but hopefully before Christmas.”
