Jody Schecter unveils the Gullwing Restaurant’s tongue-in-cheeck menu

The Gullwing restaurant at Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge, Surrey, is introducing a new menu supplied exclusively from Laverstoke Park, the award-winning organic farm of 1979 Formula 1 World Champion Jody Scheckter.

Scheckter has created an impressive business as an organic farmer after buying Laverstoke Park farm in Hampshire.

The Gullwing is a 50-seater restaurant with breathtaking views of the circuits and Surrey country side.

Peter O’Halloran, managing director Mercedes-Benz World, said: “Jody Scheckter is an iconic name in both motor-racing and now in organic farming. As his fearless driving provided a number of prestigious victories on track, we anticipate his outstanding farming abilities will have a similar effect on this extension to the Gullwing Restaurant’s menu.”

Car parking is not “undercharged” nor is it “subsidised”. Town centre businesses are overtaxed by local authorities rates and would close or move out of town if their customers were driven away by parking charges. This would dramatically reduce the local authorities income from these lost businesses.

This government is totally out of it’s mind – car parks are expensive to park in especially town centre ones. If you use your car for business purposes you have to be near to your work place, because time means money. We all haven’t the luxury of walking / cycling.

    I like that Peugeot plenty!

They need a new design direction, as the current “wide mouth frog” look is about as appealing dining on nasal excavations. I also hope that they get their ride/handling mojo back, as the 207GTi I test drove late last year had it’s steering anaesthatised and it’s shocks filled with custard. Nasty thing it was, which is why I went for an Alfa 147 Sport Q2.
