Paraglider, 50, seriously hurt

A 50-year-old man from Birmingham was airlifted to hospital after a paragliding accident on the Long Mynd.

He suffered a serious leg injury due to a difficult landing at Long Mynd Gliding Club in Asterton shortly before 12.50pm yesterday.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews treated the man at the scene and his leg was splinted.”
