Mast may go ahead

A mobile phone giant may not need permission to site a 12-metre mast near homes and two schools in Shrewsbury, a public meeting in Frankwell has heard.

Protesters successfully stopped O2 erecting a 12.5 metre antenna near their homes in Copthorne.

The company received planning permission but backed away from the site due to protests. Now Vodafone wants to use the site. The meeting heard if permission existed Vodafone would not need to apply again.
