Businessman ‘risked losing £1m home’
Friday 29th August 2008, 11:50AM BST.
Millionaire Chris Foster was at risk of losing his £1.2 million home as his debts spiralled out of control, it was reported today.
It is believed bailiffs arrived at Osbaston House on Tuesday – just hours after the property was destroyed by fire.
It is understood they arrived to take some of Mr Foster’s assets away, but discovered his possessions had been destroyed and a police investigation was under way.
It is understood liquidators Butcher Woods, of Birmingham, were involved with Mr Foster and his home.
The firm refused to comment today.
A spokeswoman for the Land Registry said Christopher and Jill Foster were still listed as the proprietors of Osbaston House today.
Superintendent Gary Higgins, of West Mercia Police, would not confirm who had visited the property on Tuesday but said there had been a “number of callers”.
“There have been a number of callers to the premises wanting to go to the property since the fire, but we are not releasing any details concerning this.”
