The fire-ravaged mansion of a missing Shropshire businessman and his family is still not safe to enter, according to police.

It is not yet known whether Chris Foster, his wife Jill and teenage daughter Kirstie were inside their home in Maesbrook, near Oswestry, at the time of the blaze.

The family’s two dogs are also missing, and three horses which were in a stable block have been found dead.

Officers and staff involved in the investigation, named Operation Feedback, are hoping to be able to search the property later, as soon as it is deemed safe.

Police have circulated an all-ports warning to be on the lookout for the family.

Meanwhile, Detective Superintendent Jon Groves, who is leading the investigation, launched a further appeal yesterday for information on the family’s whereabouts.
